Get Satisfaction LogoThe biggest news ’round these here parts isn’t even ours for a change. Get Satisfaction launched a new version of their site which changes the way you talk to us. From our side of the fence there are some pretty cool features. We’re so excited to have a place to link our Getting Started pages, Bugzilla and other useful things, and we really dig getting to set the tone of our homepage a bit more. That being said, you all actually spend more time within the interface than we do given that updates come in via email and RSS feeds and we have our own special admin view. Murphy has let his feelings be known, so much so in fact, we’re experiencing some Get Satisfaction envy. They better not steal our super star idea man. Come back to us Murphy! Seriously though, how does the new interface feel to you? Would you prefer a more traditional discussion forum? How do you think the new layout will alter our conversations? Talk to us.

We’ve talked a bit in house on how to minimize the pains of updating your bird as each release brings a handful of issues where profiles go all wonky, not to mention the chaos that can ensue when you get a few too many add-ons doing battle. I always cringe when it looks like the best solution is to create a new profile, and so many times that’s really the only solution. To that end check out this idea for a tool to rebuild your profile. Why didn’t we think of that? I personally don’t want to go through another release without this being implemented but I also know we don’t have the bandwidth to implement it ourselves right now.  Just thought I’d toss it out there to see if it could get any community love.

    The new GS layout is nice, I find things much more accessible than before, especially when looking for topics that needs attention.

    And I’m also real found of rebuild-your-profile-thingy, that would be splendid :D
