sb_core winners for August/September 2008

By stevel stevel Permalink

Our most recent sb_core period just wrapped up, with Claudio Cherubino getting the most patches (mostly UI-related) committed to SVN.  Tied for second were Alfred Peng (with a series of OpenSolaris build fixes), and Daniel Moreno for his work on the next-generation web playlist scraper.  Give some props to these guys for continuing to make Songbird better every day.

While we’re on the topic, everybody drink a toast to Claudio on his recent wedding! Congrats Claudio, we expect we won’t be seeing many patches this month. ;-)   And one more shout out to Alfred, who just successfully integrated Songbird into the OpenSolaris package repository, so OpenSolaris users can install Songbird in one easy command (pfexec pkg install SUNWsongbird for those who want to know).

Since all three were first-time winners, they each got Songbird hoodies.  Additional contributors this period were the indefatigable Mitchell Field, Reid Anderson (winner of the last sb_core period), Daniel Franke from Reble.fm, and our Fedora RPM maintainer David Halik.  Nice work everyone!

Is anyone working an an extension to sync MP3s to Android devices like the T-Mobile G1? It would instantly raise Songbird’s profile.
