We just released a few new features on the Songbird Add-ons site. With these updates, it’s a lot easier to keep up-to-date with the latest Songbird add-ons.
We noticed add-on authors keep a running ChangeLog in their long description fields. To accommodate this use case we added support for release notes to the
upload process. From now on, add-on authors will be asked “What’s New?” each time they upload a new version. The release notes for the most recent version will be displayed prominently on each individual add-on’s detail page (example). Additionally, a running list of changes will be available on that add-on’s version history page (example).
Since we now know what’s changed between versions of an add-on, we are offering a new Updated Songbird Add-ons Feed.
These updates, combined with the existing Newest Songbird Add-ons Feed, are great ways to stumble on new and interesting add-ons you might have otherwise missed.

SubscribeGreat to see the updated add on feed, been wanting that for ages.
Well done making this, will become more and more useful as the nest grow bigger and better.
@cellarmation: We’re here to serve
Thanks.
@Lenny: Absolutely. With 0.7 around the corner and 1.0 slated for later this year, I think it’s safe to assume we’ll see an influx of new and updated add-ons. The feeds should make it a lot easier to keep track of all the activity.
Hi, RSS-Feed is nice! What is the easiest way to watch this feed in Songbird? In Firefox I’ve got the Live Bookmarks to tell me, if there is something new, but it didn’t find something similar in Songbird. That would be handy, because i could install the new add-on much faster.
Thanks!
Great I’ve been waiting for this !
Now a last feed would be great :
““author mega-feeds” which would roll comments for all add-ons from a single author into one feed.”

AH this is done too
gooooood !
Do you use the same addons code as Addons.Mozilla.org?
@alanjstr
No, it’s a Rails application we wrote ourselves.
Can you add an option to let a admin of an extension add other peoples who can manage the extensions details too ? (upload, releases notes..)
@GeekShadow: That would definitely be nice to have. We’ve run into a few cases where this would be useful for the add-ons owned by the “Songbird” user. I can’t promise anything but I will open a bug on it and we’ll see where it goes.
@rtomayko
Awesome ! Thanks
Nice. Thanks
