iImport, cross-platform iTunes library importer for Songbird

By stevel stevel Permalink

Just wanted to give a shout-out to Marco’s (SonicSpot on the forums) wicked iImport tool that he wrote to address this thread.
iImport is a nice way to maintain an iTunes library on Windows, and have it automatically import into Songbird on Linux, Marco’s tool takes care of munging all the paths into the right format, and getting it all ready to pass off to the iTunes Library Importer extension. This is a great tool for people who need to keep iTunes/Windows around for sync support (either for cross-platform users, or users of unsupported devices like the iPhone & iPod Touch).

Hope this helps those in the same situation as I was, before developing this solution. If anyone has any suggestions or problems, feel free to email me!

Just a few KiloBytes… (depending on the size of your iTunes Library). But that’s not an issue, trust me.
