Songbird 0.3 - Release Candidate 2

We’re proud to announce Songbird 0.3 RC2. Thanks to your help, we’ve fixed many issues discovered in our first release candidate.

Download Songbird 0.3 RC2 and let us know what you think via our trusted Bugzilla.

If you’re a developer, and since this is a “Developer Pre-Release” afterall, make sure to visit our new developer site. You’ll find lots of documentation and sample code regarding feathers, webpage api and add-ons creation. Give it a try and make sure to report issues or suggestions.

You’ll also notice a new look for the Birdhouse (to see the Birdhouse, you have to use Songbird). Our staff has been busy collecting cool music sites enhanced when visited in Songbird. It is updated periodically so make sure to visit the Birdhouse often.

We’re getting very close to 0.3 Final. Your feedback is critical so please test, test, test.

    it looks like songbird will be taking over the media playing industry , we will need a way of making iTunes into a trash can, ill get right on that =D, good work guys

    What about trying the iBird feather? :)
    It shows that Songbird’s interface could be the exact same as iTunes, yet plainly has more capabilities. Power of open-source!

    On the Mac, this version has no menubar and no dock icon, and I can’t seem to enter a web address so I can’t go to any sites to get an online playlist. What’s going on?!

    Erk, that doesn’t sound good. Can you take a screenshot so we can see what it looks like?

    Thanks for the reference Len. Removing the cache per that bug (and coincidentally moving to Leopard) has restored normal behaviour)
