A functional farm

By redfive redfive Permalink

Yay! The build farm is up and running and will be spitting out builds every night around 4am. I still have some tweaks to make and we still need to get the master buildbot hosted on our webserver but at least we now have builds for everyone generated autoMagically!! Phew.

You can find links to tonight’s nightlies over here on our nightlies page. The links are to the branch builds which are stable, the “older” builds link to trunk nightlies which are a bit scary right now.

One other thing, DRM playback is disabled until we can get it into the first run bundle.

    That is cool!
…but i think first nightly was build at night(has a huge bug). It won’t play tracks with unicode filenames.

-could it be the error console?

The windows version doesn’t want to play any media when you open the consoles with the commandline options, now.

So, really, I mean it, nightlies. There was a problem with the way I was building the name of the file to upload to the server. The date section was initialized at build master startup and then never updated. So it was always looking for a build from 20070209 to upload and never finding it. Took some playing around today to determine there wasn’t a way to do that at build time (bash stuff just WOULD NOT work when I added it to the command, I don’t get it). So I wrote a script and now the copies should happen reliably. We’ll see in the morning if there is a build on the servers for Feb 13. In the meantime you’ll find builds from today on the servers that I built while fixing the upload today. Enjoy! And file bugs!!!

Are we going to see the “Major Annoyances” section updated anytime soon? Right now it still lists bugs from the 0.2.1 branch.

Well, the branch is still alive and kicking and will be the stable area for us over the coming months. So I don’t think those will necessarily go away soon. However I’m going to be looking at updating the build requirements pages since I just went through that process several times, and I have moved the dependency directories around recently too. I’ll take a gander at the annoyances section while I’m at it.

Yea, I updated that link for the 0.2.5 buglist.

I also updated the 0.3.0 buglist to only show the P1 bugs that are actually listed to be considered for fixing.

I also updated the bucket urls so you can go get newer or older versions of the nightly than the “blessed” version linked directly from the page. You can get to either branch or trunk buckets, now, for each of the 5 platforms we support.

    That adds up to, uh, let’s see… one, two… uh… three? four….

    TEN DIFFERENT NIGHTLIES PER DAY!!!!

(tho, uh, the trunk really stinks right now)
