OS X gonna make you Chirp! Chirp!

By roblord roblord Permalink

It’s a newborn. It needs swaddling. It hasn’t even chirped yet. Installed from a .DaMaGe file, it’s Songbird on OS X.

What’s that you ask? No, it’s not available yet. But yes, that is stained Canadian Oak.

Soon Mac heads. Hold please.

Lol, the lovely dockicon is so sweet. I want that for my windows version, and i want the png for my rKLauncher!

That dock icon is great! Has a lot more character than the current one. I Hope to see something similar for the Windows version.

I hope it’s going to be more OS X. You can now see the white titlebar and the egdes are not OS X. But the rest looks nice and I can’t wait to try it…

Can’t wait for the Mac version (and I’m sure it’ll be a UB, right? ;))… But in the meanwhile, what program owns the icon to the right of the Sogbird Dock icon?

branto: that’s a web browser called Flock.

Can’t wait for the OSX version to come out!

Waiting for the OS X release and also for the 0.2 release

Branto: Thats a new browser called Flock, which is based on firefox. Flock and Songbird are a lot similar, in the sense that both are social. Our first public RC is due sometime next week. So make sure u chk it out. For a preview chk out: http://www.flock.com/tour/ and if u want to get ur hands dirty download one of the continuous builds at: http://tinderbox.flock.com/

    why’s the duck farting?

El Faralito Super Burrito. Black beans, salsa verde, extra cilantro, and a bag of chips. And it’s not a duck.

In for the Windows version. I just checked it in. In the mean time, see the new Community page for a button.

Hi, i really like what you are doing. Finally an Open Source project with a sense for design.

But what I really want now (!) is this amazingly beautiful wooden Desktop. Would be nice, if you gave us a link, where to get it, or if you uploaded it.

I think others have shown jus how much OS X support there is, and I echo those sentiments- I can’t wait to try it out on my MacBook Pro!

Just curious though. Maybe I missed this somewhere, but will it be possible to subscribe to podcasts through the iTunes store? I know it has RSS support which is fantastic, but one thing that would stop me from using it over iTunes would be the lack of podcast support from the music store.

Oh yeah, and what’s the fire on the log icon in your dock? I think I recognize the other non-standard ones.

What’s the chat icon in the dock? I love the songbird icon.

For lack of better place to comment, thank you for the tech talk at Yahoo on Thursday. I had heard of Songbird before that and was very excited to hear more about your project. Alas, I still can’t use it (Mac), but I’m looking forward. The “web player” genre of app you’re pioneering has a lot of potential, and I think others will follow your lead eventually. Thanks again,

    Richard

Although I’m a newbie here at Songbird, I sense that everybody is excited for something that is about to come out. I’m a music lover and this product looks very interesting to me like an india sildenafil
