Cartbird

The t-shirts have arrived. I was fortunate enough to find a couple of part-time models to show off the merchandise for the Merchtable. We only have about 100 shirts in the first run so please be patient if we run out of them.

A Feathered History

By jkoshi jkoshi

Songbird’s current feathering is the result of a few earlier versions. It was difficult to focus on the visde while trying to learn XUL and CSS. Here is a survery of my process for Songbird’s feathers. While we still haven’t nailed down the final “feathering” system, I thought I’d share what it’s been like feathering Songbird so far. As soon as we’re ready, we’ll publish a feathering kit, stay tuned.

It’s 11:23p, Monday October 24th, Mig sits across from me, next to him, Rob. Mig speaks to Rob, who speaks to me about artwork for our first demo. It seems that within a couple of days, Mig and Aus will have something that plays music. It’s our very first Songbird; with few details, I made a quick visual specification for Mig:

Aaaaargh!

By ronen ronen

As David has pointed out the redirect on the ‘thank you’ page was going to v0.1.1 not v0.1.1b.

Basically if you followed the link from the download page you probably have the older version. If you followed the link from the mirrors page you should be good.

I strongly recommend that anyone who doesn’t know how to confirm their version using md5 or sha1 hashing of the installer to download it again (the correct hashes are here.) This time you will be redirected to the correct version (the link that David provided in his comment).

Appologies all around from the web team.

Device API Programming

By mig mig

This blogpost is meant to assist curious programmers in understanding the underlying Device API exposed by Songbird. Because the API is still far from frozen, this document’s purpose is to simply cover an overview of the responsibilities of a Device API implementation.
